Post-Doctoral Fellow/Research Associate in the School of Life Sciences, The Chinese University of Hong Kong

Applications are invited for appointment as Post-Doctoral Fellow/Research Associate in the Falkenberg Laboratory in the School of Life Sciences, The Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Applicants should possess either a PhD or a Master’s degree and at least 4 years post-Moster's degree research experience. They should have experience in research focussing on marine ecology, climate change biology (especially ocean acidification), genomics, or another marine biology related discipline. Their research experience should be evidenced by a strong academic publishing record. The ideal candidate possesses a toolkit comprised of a solid foundation of laboratory experiments, capacity to measure physiological and behavioural organism responses, an understanding of seawater chemistry, as well as a proven ability to undertake the associated fieldwork (i.e. sampling of water conditions, collection of experimental organisms). Skills and experience in computational biology, and finding and extracting data for meta-analyses are desirable but not essential.

Research Assistant in the School of Life Sciences, The Chinese University of Hong Kong

Applications are invited for appointment as a Research Assistant in the Falkenberg Laboratory in the School of Life Sciences, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. 

Applicants are required to possess a Bachelor’s degree in marine ecology, biology, oceanography, or related field. The ideal candidate will have a Master’s degree in a marine biology topic, experience maintaining tank experiments (preferably those for ocean acidification research), an understanding of seawater chemistry, and knowledge of the biology/ecology of marine organisms. The primary responsibilities of the successful candidate will be supporting all aspects of the logistics required for climate change (and particularly ocean acidification) experiments.
